Dextran maleimidohexanoate
Dextran functionalized with maleimido moieties is a very useful “ene” compound for thiol-Michael and radical thiol-ene reaction.
The thiol reactive dextran conjugates, which can react with sulfhydryl group (thiol) with high efficiency, are solids of white to pale yellow color and are soluble in water (DS 0.2-03) or in dimethylsulfoxide (DMSO) at DS of 1.4-1.6.
Dextran functionalized with maleimido moieties can react with thiolated antibodies, proteins, peptides or small molecules in aqueous buffer or in DMSO quickly and specifically.
